Certify Healthy

Healthy Vacation® is a consultancy program in overall wellness for health-conscious hotels, which includes a certification. This certification, which could be Green, Gold or Platinum, is a badge that indicates that the staff has been trained and the hotel has put all the necessary measures into effect in their facilities.

The Healthy Vacation® program and all its quality standards have been developed by a group of professionals in overall health, certified by the IIN (Institute for Integrative Nutrition® from New York).

The hotels that boast the Healthy Vacation® certification, offer healthy options in all their dining facilities and are able to tend to all aspects of a guest’s physical, mental and emotional health.

Certification Procedure

Evaluation

Takes place in every area of the hotel involved, in order to create a “Health and Wellness” report that will determine the hotel's status and the steps needed to put the Healthy Vacation® actions into action.

Formation & Training

Online training for hotel staff. Hotel personnel are trained in different aspects of health such as: kinds of diets, the significance of personal relationships (emotional health), most common allergies and sensitivities, the value of proper hydration, the importance of including physical activity in our lives, what are super foods or the relevance of healthy eating for a good digestion, among others. At this stage the hotel is also informed and trained on Healthy Vacation® Standards.

Menu Enhancements

Our menu development and optimization experts handle the correct signage at each of the dining facilities of the hotel. With the hotel’s resources, the necessary adjustments are made so that every dish is healthy and well balanced. This third stage takes place at the same time as training and counseling.

Implementing HV Actions

Once training has taken place, the hotel must then put the Healthy Vacation® actions into their structure. During this stage, the hotel is also given all the corresponding material (printed material and online elements) through which guests will be informed about the new actions that have been put into effect.

Follow up Inspection

Our auditors visit the establishment to make sure that all actions have been put into effect correctly and that HV® standards are being followed.

Certification

When the inspection is passed, the hotel receives its Healthy Vacation® certification.

Renewal

The certification is renewed yearly and this is done through and inspection to make sure all actions are still in force at the Hotel. In order for HV® actions to be sustained and for all changes to be permanent, renewal inspections are unannounced.
